I am getting tired of complaining about the state of the roads but how does this first photo pass for a paved road in one of the most affluent neigbourhoods in the country?

The other photos are of people who use the handicapped spaces as SUV only spaces. The guy in the jeep in had his arm over his mouth due to his embarrassing desire to pretend to be retarded so his wife could collect her dry cleaning.

I think last Saturday was national SUV day. Every jeep in the country was in Dublin 4. The one’s with the country registrations were piloted by the most clueless and they were probably taking refuge from the awful recession they created. It is a shame I didn’t get a photo of the 60 year old who traded in his land and his tractor for a 07 G Ferrari. I couldn’t take a photo for fear anyone might think I was impressed by this disgusting sight while people are losing their jobs and probably having their houses repossessed. The black Tipperary (south riding) reg Ferrari on Pembroke park is a close 2nd in pure odiousness.

These assholes consider it perfectly acceptable to park on double yellow lines or in handicap spaces or anywhere at all really so long as the flashers are on. Why would they bother inconveniencing themselves or paying for parking when the Gardai drive past and don’t pay any attention to this ignorant criminal act (albeit petty). The clampers on the other hand drive around clamping parked cars that may have overrun the meter by a few minutes but are causing no real blockage. Vultures.

On a side note, I asked someone I know if he could talk to a really nice Garda he knows and ask him if my new apartment had any weird history. This was his answer:

you are making the mistake of having watched an episode of CSI or NYPD Blue, now you think that the police will know if they have visited an apartment before. I know this from asking X to do stuff that i thought was a 10 second job and having him start laughing in my face. I suppose he would have to call someone from the local station (seeing as how they don’t have email) and get them to look. I can see but I wouldn’t be too optimistic….
